A Step in Time with the Author

DALLAS SMITH is professor emeritus of Civil Engineering at Tennessee Tech University.  His free-lance stories have appeared in Field and Stream, Sports Afield, and Archery World.  He has co-authored three engineering textbooks published by the US Army Missile Command.

As a runner, he holds several age-group state records and has twice won the state running tour championship, senior grandmaster male division.

He lives in Cookeville, Tennessee with his wife, Jo Ann.
